"Federal law prohibits "electioneering" which is any candidate advocacy within 500 feet of a polling location. I actually had a candidate turned away b/c he had one of his own polo shirts on when he went to vote. laws have been strengthened over last 4-8yrs - they started to prevent people from standing right at the polling place and interfering with what is supposed to be "secret ballots" and the privacy of voting."
